Robert has designed several of the most impressive landmark structures on the Wellington skyline, including the award-winning Inter-Continental/HP Tower and Vodafone on the Quay (Mobile on the Park). Robert has worked with numerous clients in the public sector and completed major projects for Radio New Zealand, ACC, WINZ and Parliamentary Services.

BUILDING REGULATIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE.
Some of Robert’s project work has been with leading edge technological constructions where compliance with the regulations has been challenging but essential. Wind tunnel testing of high rise buildings in the Wellington environment for facade design work and mitigating street effects of wind deflection from new buildings are but one example. The occurrence of earthquake natural disasters in NZ in recent times has had a significant effect on building regulations that have been reviewed and rewritten by the Authorities. Robert has a keen interest in environmental law and sustainable practices.

Brought up through a farming family, Robert is very aware of the issues facing people farming the land and the difficulties of environmental control, farming practices and economics and environmental compliance.

Robert believes achieving a sustain able balance of all three issues above is a paramount, criteria for sustainable development.
